Travel information
By train
Ruhpolding is easy to reach by regional train. From Munich, take the regional
express towards Salzburg and change in Traunstein to the local train to Ruhpolding.
The typical connection is:
Munich Hbf → Traunstein → Ruhpolding
The journey takes about 1 hour 45 minutes. The Campus
Chiemgau building is about 10 minutes on foot from Ruhpolding railway station.
Participants are advised to check their connection shortly before travelling using
the DB Navigator or the BRB website, as regional timetables and platform information
may change.
For participants already using a Deutschland-Ticket, the route is
usually covered because it uses regional trains. For groups or single-day travel
within Bavaria, the Bayern-Ticket may also be an option.
By car
Ruhpolding can be reached via the A8 motorway between Munich and
Salzburg. Leave the motorway at the Traunstein/Siegsdorf exit and continue via the
B306 and St2098 towards Ruhpolding.
Address for navigation:
Campus Chiemgau Ruhpolding
Hauptstraße 24
83324 Ruhpolding
Germany
Guest parking is available in front of the building. Please note that parking
capacity may be limited; we encourage participants to use public transport or share
rides where possible.
From Salzburg
Ruhpolding is also reachable from Salzburg by train, usually with a change via
Traunstein. This can be a convenient option for international participants arriving
via Salzburg Airport.
Local mobility
Ruhpolding is a small town and most local distances can be covered on foot. Hotels
and guesthouses near the centre or the railway station are generally convenient for
reaching the campus.
